Our Story

Harlem is not a place.
It is a DNA.

The Harlem Renaissance did not stay in New York. It traveled to Paris, shaped independence movements across Africa, gave music to the Caribbean, and handed Black creatives everywhere a blueprint for what was possible. That signal has never stopped moving.

What We Do

A community intelligence organization.

Tracking signal.
Organizing pattern.
Making it legible.

Global Harlem exists to track that signal. To organize it. To make it legible to the communities producing it and the institutions that need to understand it.

We're starting in Harlem, the flagship. Cultural, economic, wellness, and technology signals, organized into a weekly brief the community can act on. Nine cities across the diaspora are next.

This is not media. This is not a listening exercise.

The Four Categories

What we track, category by category.

Cultural & Arts. Music, performance, visual art, faith, tradition, and the cultural conversations shaping identity across the diaspora.

Economic & Business. Entrepreneurship, wealth building, homeownership, financial access, and the economic signals moving through Black communities.

Wellness & Health. Physical health, mental health, maternal care, environmental justice, and the community conversations around healing and access.

Technology & Media. Digital platforms, independent media, algorithm dynamics, fintech adoption, and how Black communities are navigating the technology landscape.

The Nine Cities

Starting in Harlem. Expanding across the diaspora.

Harlem. Atlanta. Philadelphia. Houston. Detroit. Chicago. Washington D.C. New Orleans. Los Angeles.

Who This Is For

For everyone who claims the culture.

Producing the signal. The stories, the culture, and the momentum Global Harlem exists to track.
